Nominate the Unsung Heroes of Veganism!

Super Vegans hero logo Let's celebrate those we rarely hear about who are doing great stuff for veganism in their community. Redwood Foods, Veggie Snow and ActiVeg.org have teamed up to give annual Unsung Vegan Heroes Prizes. Redwoods have kindly donated a 1st and 2nd place prize in vouchers and the 1st place winner will also receive veganising funds from Veggie Snow.

Nominations now closed for this year

Nominations are for local vegan activists or group coordinators you think deserve credit. It might be because they do so much or simply because whatever they do they do it so well, and have touched your heart. In all cases they will be genuinely positive vegans who give a great image to the cause for animals, people and the planet.

What if you don't know any active vegans? Now is the time to get in touch with some. Take a look at our links to contacts and activists listings. You can ask for help or simply be friendly and supportive – both they and you may well gain from knowing each other and you could even put them up for the prize.

Whatever feedback you've got, contact Sophie. Any prize nominations should be submitted by New Year's Day (nominations deadline: midnight 1st Jan 2008) so we can present the awards at the North West Vegan Fest on 26th January.

Redwoods new chorizo Thanks to Redwood Foods of Cheezly and Vegideli fame, we've got the lovely prizes of £50 gift voucher first and a £25 gift voucher for second place, so winners can choose their favourite Redwood products and have them sent to their home. We've also got £200 to give from VeggieSnow towards the winner's next wonderful veganising activity (subject to need and use).

Winners and runners up will also be featured (with their permission) on the Super Vegans and ActiVeg websites.
